Scope

In GB 4706.1—2005, the content of this chapter is replaced by the following:
This part of GB 4706 specifies the safety requirements for electric vacuum cleaners and water-absorbing cleaning appliances suitable for household and similar purposes, including vacuum cleaners used for animal cleaning, with a rated voltage of not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances. It also applies to central vacuum cleaners and automatic cleaning appliances with rechargeable batteries.
This part also applies to power cleaning heads and special vacuum cleaners with carrying pipes.
It also applies to appliances that are not intended for general household use, but may pose a danger to the public, such as appliances used by non-professionals for general household purposes in stores or other business premises.
