Scope

This standard applies to the calibration of bench-type and portable particulate matter detectors used to measure the concentration of particulate matter in the exhaust gas of mobile sources, based on the principles of condensation nucleus particle counting or diffusion charging.
The particulate matter concentration calibration range for bench-type particulate matter detectors is (50 to 20,000) particles/cm3.
The particulate matter concentration calibration range for portable particulate matter detectors is (5×103 to 1×107) particles/cm3.
