Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions of electric oil heaters for household and similar uses (hereinafter referred to as "oil heaters"), specifies their classification, requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage requirements, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, and other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V, used in portable, fixed, and standing types of oil heaters in households and similar settings.
This document does not apply to:
—— Oil heaters installed in building structures;
—— Oil heaters designed specifically for industrial use;
—— Oil heaters intended for use in special environments where corrosive or explosive gases (such as dust, steam, or gas) are frequently generated.
Note: Other liquid-filled heaters, except for oil heaters, refer to this document.
