Scope
This standard specifies the methods for determining potassium and sodium in industrial circulating cooling water and boiler water. In this standard, the atomic absorption spectrometry method is suitable for determining potassium concentrations of 0.1 mg/L to 50 mg/L and sodium concentrations of 0.1 mg/L to 500 mg/L. The potentiometry method is suitable for determining sodium concentrations of 0.01 mg/L to 100 mg/L, and the flame emission spectrometry method is suitable for determining potassium concentrations of 0.1 mg/L to 10 mg/L and sodium concentrations of 0.1 mg/L to 10 mg/L. This standard is also applicable to the determination of potassium and sodium in various industrial waters, raw waters, and domestic waters.
