GB/T 8088-2025 Raw natural rubber and natural rubber latex—Determination of nitrogen content

Scope

This document describes the constant-weight and semi-micro methods for determining the nitrogen content in natural rubber and natural latex using the Kjeldahl nitrogen determination method.
This document is applicable to the determination of nitrogen content in natural rubber and natural latex.
When there are disputes about the semi-micro method, the glass device method should be the preferred method.
Note: The determination of nitrogen content in natural rubber is often used to estimate the protein content in rubber. However, there are also a small amount of non-protein nitrogen components in natural rubber, which account for a significant proportion of the total nitrogen content in the dry solid obtained from natural latex.
