Scope

This section stipulates the frequency and allowable values of the biological toxicity tests for some pollutants used or generated during marine oil exploration and development operations and discharged into the ocean in different sea areas, and also sets forth requirements for the testing methods of samples and the determination of test results.
This section applies to the biological toxicity classification of drilling fluids, base fluids, drill cuttings, and production water used or generated during marine oil exploration and development operations and discharged into the ocean. For pollutants not specified in this section, the biological toxicity classification shall be determined by reference to the existing standards.
