Scope
This part specifies the test methods used in the biological toxicity testing of some pollutants used or generated during marine oil exploration and development operations and discharged into the ocean, as well as the requirements for sample handling, experimental organisms, test procedures, result determination, and quality control in the test methods.
This part applies to the biological toxicity testing of drilling fluids, base fluids, drill cuttings, and production water used or generated during marine oil exploration and development operations and discharged into the ocean. The biological toxicity testing of pollutants not specified in this part may be used for reference.
