GB/T 5169.5-2020 Fire hazard testing for electric and electronic products—Part 5:Test flames—Needle-flame test method—Apparatus,confirmatory test arrangement and guidance

Scope

The needle flame test specified in this part of GB/T 5169 is used to simulate the effects of small flames caused by fault conditions and to evaluate the fire hazard using simulation technology. When considering all factors related to assessing the fire hazard of a specific end use, the results of this test can be used as an element in the assessment of fire hazard.
This part is applicable to electrical and electronic products, equipment, components, and parts, as well as to solid insulating materials or other combustible materials.
This part is intended for use by product committees when preparing standards in accordance with the principles set forth in IEC Guide 104 and ISO/IEC Guide 51.
One of the tasks of the product committee is to use this series of standards wherever applicable when preparing their own standards. Unless the relevant standards specifically mention or list non-applicability, the requirements, test methods, or test conditions of this part are applicable.
