Scope
This part of GB/T 18802 specifies the characteristics, standard test methods, and rated values of low-voltage surge protectors, which contain at least one non-linear component used to limit voltage and discharge surge current.
This part applies to protectors used to protect against the indirect and direct effects of lightning or other transient overvoltages. These devices are assembled and connected to circuits and equipment with an AC rated voltage of no more than 1,000 V (effective value) and a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
Note: For SPDs used in wind power generation systems, in addition to meeting the requirements of this part, their special operating environment conditions and continuous peak voltages should also refer to the requirements of corresponding standards.
