Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the additional characteristics of electrical installations on mobile facilities. This document stipulates the following requirements: -- Environmental conditions; -- Tilting limits for equipment required to operate on the facility; -- Bilge pumps; -- Navigation lights and obstruction lights; -- Steering gear; -- Ballast systems; -- Lifting systems; -- Anchoring systems. For electric propulsion systems, refer to IEC 60092-501. For dynamic positioning systems, refer to the relevant requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). This document applies to mobile facilities, such as column-stabilized facilities (semi-submersible facilities), ship-type or barge-type floating facilities, and self-elevating facilities. This document specifies the additional characteristics of these facilities, which are used for drilling, production, accommodation, processing, oil storage, and discharge, and can be moved from one location to another. This document applies to all permanent, temporary, portable, or handheld AC and DC devices, without any voltage level restrictions. Reference equipment standards may specify voltage level restrictions. This document does not apply to the following equipment: -- Medical fixed electrical installations; -- Electrical installations on liquid cargo ships; -- Ignition source control equipment other than those generated by electrical equipment.
