Scope

This standard applies to the safety and environmental procedures for SF6 handling and end-of-life disposal during the installation, commissioning, normal and abnormal operation of high-voltage switchgear and control equipment.
These procedures should be considered as the minimum requirements to ensure the safety of personnel engaged in SF6 work and to minimize the amount of SF6 emissions into the environment.
This standard is also generally applicable to mixed gases containing SF6.
