Scope

This standard specifies the methods for analyzing the content of amorphous carbon, ash, and volatile substances in carbon nanotube samples using thermogravimetry under different experimental atmospheres, as well as the main oxidation temperature and thermal stability of carbon nanotubes. The experimental atmospheres include carbon dioxide atmosphere, a mixture of oxygen and synthetic air, and nitrogen atmosphere.
This standard is applicable to single-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotube samples obtained by chemical vapor deposition. Carbon nanotube samples obtained by other preparation methods can be implemented with reference to this standard.
