Scope
This document describes the method for establishing emission limits for welding fumes from welding materials, and specifies the procedures, test conditions, and test reports for determining the emission rate and chemical composition of fumes.
This document is applicable to all welding materials used for manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic arc welding connections or overlay welding of non-alloy steel, alloy steel, and non-ferrous metals. Welding methods include stick electrode arc welding, gas-shielded arc welding with solid welding wire and flux-cored welding wire (including non-metallic powder type and metallic powder type), and self-shielded flux-cored welding wire.
