Scope

This standard specifies the determination of the hydroxyl value of non-ionic surfactants. This standard is applicable to the determination of the hydroxyl value of aliphatic and alicyclic polyalkoxy compounds (especially the hydroxyl value of adducts of primary fatty alcohols, alkylphenols, and fatty acids with ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, and their mixtures), and is suitable for measuring hydroxyl values ranging from 10 to 1,000.
