Scope
This document specifies the requirements for the prevention of electrical hazards in the design and manufacture of electrical devices and equipment for locomotives and rolling stock.
This document applies to track-based locomotives and rolling stock, externally powered road transport vehicles (such as trams), magnetic levitation vehicles, and equipment on the above-mentioned locomotives and rolling stock.
This document does not apply to:
—— mine railways in mines;
—— railway lifting devices, mobile platforms, and similar transport systems;
—— cableways;
—— temporary facilities.
This document does not address the requirements for protecting vehicles against electric potential in ground-based devices.
