Scope

This document specifies the design and installation requirements and recommendations for the connection of various conductive components in buildings and other structures. During the construction or renovation of buildings and other structures, the installation of information technology (IT) and broader telecommunications equipment aims to:
a) minimize the risk of electrical damage to the proper functioning of the equipment and interconnected cables;
b) provide reliable signal references for telecommunications equipment and enhance resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI).
This document applies to buildings and other structures (such as residential buildings, offices, industrial facilities, and data centers) within the complexes specified in GB/T 34961.2—2024, and it can also be helpful for other types of buildings and structures.
Note: Telecommunications centers (operator buildings) are addressed by ITU-T K.27.
This document does not apply to power distribution systems with voltages above 1,000 V AC.
The electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and safety requirements for power supply installation are beyond the scope of this document and are covered by other standards and regulations. However, the information provided in this document may assist in meeting the requirements of these standards and regulations.
