Scope

This standard specifies the specifications and test methods for unused silicone insulating fluids used in transformers and other electrical equipment. The specified performance of the silicone insulating fluid for Type T1 transformers is listed in Table 1, and the specifications for other types will be listed as needed. Note: The maintenance of silicone insulating fluids already used in electrical equipment is covered in another publication, IEC 60944.
