Scope

This document specifies the performance requirements and test methods for head protection gear used in ice hockey.
The reasonable performance confirmed by this document includes the following:
a) Structure and protective area;
b) Impact absorption performance;
c) Penetration resistance performance;
d) Wearing system performance;
e) Field of vision;
f) Marking and information.
This document applies to head protection gear used by ice hockey players (including other staff members except goalkeepers).
Note 1: The requirements of the clauses take precedence over the diagrams.
Note 2: The purpose of this document is to reduce the risk of head injuries to athletes without compromising the competitive state and appeal of ice hockey.
