Scope

This document specifies the performance requirements and test methods for neck protectors in ice hockey. Neck protectors are used to reduce the risk of injuries caused by direct cuts to the neck resulting from contact with ice hockey pucks or ice skate blades.
The test requirements ensure that neck protectors meet the requirements of this document, but cannot predict the performance of neck protectors in all possible situations. This document does not address the impact of ice hockey pucks, ice hockey sticks, or other objects on the neck.
