GB 19726.2-2013 Machinery for forestry—Portable chain-saw safety requirements and testing— Part 2:Chain-saws for tree service
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB 19726 specifies the safety requirements and test methods for portable pruning chainsaws powered by internal combustion engines (hereinafter referred to as pruning chainsaws) (see Figure 1). This part applies to pruning chainsaws that are used by trained operators holding the rear handle with their right hand and the front handle with their left hand for trimming tree crowns, and whose net mass, without the saw chain and guide plate and with an empty fuel tank, does not exceed 4.3 kg. The pruning chainsaws covered by this part are suitable for use by operators who have read and understood the safety requirements in the user manual and who use the correct personal protective equipment (PPE). This standard describes methods to eliminate or reduce various hazards caused by the use of pruning chainsaws, and stipulates the requirements for safety operation information provided by manufacturers.
This part provides all serious hazards associated with pruning chainsaws during normal use and reasonable, foreseeable misuse.
