Scope

This document provides an overview of GB/T 34590 and additional explanations, with the aim of enhancing understanding of other parts of this document. This document is for informational purposes only, describing the general concepts of GB/T 34590 for easy understanding. The explanations extend these general concepts to specific content. This document applies to safety-related systems containing one or more electrical/electronic systems installed in mass-produced road vehicles, except for light motorcycles. It does not apply to specific electrical/electronic systems in special-purpose vehicles, such as those designed for disabled drivers. Note: Other dedicated safety standards can supplement this document, and vice versa. Systems and their components that have already been released for production or are under development before the publication of this document are not applicable to this document. When changes are made to systems and their components that have been released for production before the publication of this document, this document tailors the safety lifecycle activities based on these changes. When integrating systems developed before the publication of this document with systems developed in accordance with this document, the safety lifecycle activities must be tailored in accordance with this document. This document addresses potential hazards caused by functional malfunctions of safety-related electrical/electronic systems, including those caused by interactions between these systems. It does not address hazards related to electric shock, fire, smoke, heat, radiation, toxicity, flammability, reactivity, corrosivity, energy release, etc., unless these hazards are directly caused by functional malfunctions of safety-related electrical/electronic systems. This document proposes a framework for functional safety development of safety-related electrical/electronic systems, which aims to integrate functional safety activities into enterprise-specific developm
