GB/T 3658-2008 Methods of measurement of a.c.magnetic properties of magnetically soft materials

Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for the AC magnetic properties of materials other than electrical steel and soft magnetic ferrites in the frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. The materials covered by this standard include: special alloys listed in IEC 60404-8-6; pressed, sintered, and metal injection molded components listed in IEC 60404-8-9; castings; and soft magnetic composites.
The purpose of this standard is to clarify the general principles and technical details of testing the magnetic properties of soft magnetic materials using annular specimens. For powdered materials, annular specimens should be made by appropriate extrusion methods.
The DC magnetic properties of soft magnetic materials should be measured using the annular specimen measurement method in IEC 60404-4. The magnetic characteristics of soft magnetic components should be determined in accordance with IEC 62044-3:2000.
The testing should generally be carried out at an ambient temperature of (23±5)℃, and the annular specimens should be demagnetized before testing. Upon agreement between the supplier and the buyer, the testing can also be conducted within other temperature ranges.
