Scope
This document specifies the requirements for safety assessment agencies of elevators in use, safety assessment procedures (including preliminary preparation, risk assessment, determination of comprehensive safety status level, and measures to reduce risks), and basic requirements for assessment reports.
This document applies to traction-driven elevators with a rated speed of not more than 6.0 m/s, as well as hydraulic-driven elevators with a rated speed of not more than 1.0 m/s. For traction-driven elevators with a rated speed of more than 6.0 m/s, this document can be referenced for implementation.
Note: In special circumstances (such as: elevators used by disabled people, fire situations, potential explosive environments, extreme weather conditions, earthquake situations, or the transportation of dangerous goods, etc.), additional requirements may need to be considered in addition to the requirements of this document.
This document does not apply to freight elevators and household elevators.
