Scope

This document specifies the requirements for metal and non-metal conductor fasteners used to fix and support lightning arresters, down conductors, and grounding devices, and describes the corresponding test methods. Due to the large number and variety of conductor fasteners used in modern buildings, this document is not applicable to the fixation of conductor fasteners to building structures. This document is not applicable to the testing of conductor fasteners in explosive environments. Conductor fasteners used in hazardous environments require consideration of necessary additional requirements. Note: In EU countries, the test requirements for components used in explosive environments are specified in CLC/TS 50703-2.
