本文件适用于电压交流不超过1 000 V（有效值）、50/60 Hz和/或直流不超过1 500 V的电器设备用金属氧化物压敏电阻器（以下简称“MOV”），用于抑制瞬时过电压以保护电器设备的安全。
本文件的目的是规定低压电器用MOV的：
——定义；
——分类；
——额定值；
——使用条件；
——技术要求；
——试验方法；
——检验规则。
低压电涌保护器用金属氧化物压敏电阻器符合GB/T 18802.331的要求。
注：交流额定电压1 140V的电器可参照本文件执行。有关电器的性能等要求由制造商和用户协商确定。
