Scope

This standard specifies a high-performance liquid chromatography method for the determination of nine tetracycline antibiotics in cosmetics. This standard is applicable to the determination of nine tetracycline antibiotics in skin care cosmetics. The detection limit of minocycline in this standard is 25 mg/kg, the detection limits of oxytetracycline, tetracycline, and chlortetracycline are 10 mg/kg, the detection limits of chloramphenicol, metacycline, and doxycycline are 5 mg/kg, and the detection limits of dehydrochloramphenicol and dehydrotetracycline are 2.5 mg/kg.
