Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements, requirements for finished products, test procedures, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for elastomeric piston cups and double-lip sealing rings (hereinafter collectively referred to as sealing parts) used in automotive hydraulic brake cylinders for non-petroleum-based hydraulic brake fluids.
This standard applies to rubber molded sealing parts with a diameter not exceeding 60 mm used in drum brake brake cylinders.
This standard does not apply to elastomeric sealing parts used in disc brakes.
