GB/T 18964.1-2025 Plastics—Impact-resistant polystyrene(PS-I) moulding and extrusion materials—Part 1:Designation system and basis for specifications
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies a naming system for impact-resistant polystyrene (PS-I) thermoplastic materials, which serves as the basis for classification. Different types of impact-resistant polystyrene plastic materials are distinguished by a classification system based on the values of specified characteristic properties, as well as their recommended applications and/or processing methods, important performance characteristics, additives, colorants, fillers, and reinforcing materials: a) Vicat softening temperature; b) Melt mass flow rate; c) Notched impact strength of a simple beam; d) Bending modulus. This document applies to all impact-resistant polystyrene plastics in two-phase polymer systems, where polystyrene and/or alkyl-substituted polystyrene copolymers serve as the continuous phase, and rubber phases of butadiene serve as the dispersed phase. This document applies to materials in conventional forms such as powders, granules, or crushed particles, whether unmodified or modified with colorants, additives, fillers, etc. This document does not apply to expandable materials. This document does not imply that materials with the same name necessarily have the same performance. It does not provide the engineering data, performance data, or processing condition data required to describe the special applications and/or processing methods of the materials. If necessary, these additional performance characteristics can be determined using the test methods specified in GB/T 18964.2.
