Scope

This standard specifies the methods for determining the protein content in food.
Methods I and II of this standard are applicable to the determination of protein in various foods, and Method III is applicable to the screening and determination of protein content in solid samples such as grains, beans, milk powder, rice flour, and protein powder with a protein content of more than 10 g/100 g.
This standard is not applicable to the determination of protein in foods that contain inorganic nitrogen-containing substances or organic non-protein nitrogen-containing substances.
