Scope

This standard specifies two methods for determining the wear resistance of vulcanized rubber using a rotating roller device. This standard includes the determination of the volume wear of the specimen when it is rubbed on a certain grade of sandpaper. Method A is used for non-rotating specimens, and Method B is used for rotating specimens. The test results are expressed in terms of the volume wear or wear index relative to a reference rubber.
