Scope
This part of GB/T 223 specifies the spectrophotometric method of methylene blue to determine the sulfur content in steel and alloys. This part is applicable to the determination of sulfur content in steel and alloys with a mass fraction of 0.000 3% to 0.01%. Nb, Si, Ta, and Ti interfere with the determination of sulfur. According to the content of the interfering elements, the applicable range and sample quantity are given in Table 1.
