本标准规定了直径为6 mm～38 mm不同结构的光面或镀锌电梯用钢丝绳的范围、术语和定义、分类、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志和质量证明书等。本标准适用于曳引驱动和液压驱动电梯用悬挂钢丝绳，乘客和载货电梯用补偿钢丝绳和限速器钢丝绳，货物、人员升降和在导轨间移动的人力电梯用钢丝绳。本标准不适用于建筑工地升降机和无论是否载人、不在永久性导轨间运行的临时升降机或架空索道用钢丝绳。
