Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and labeling, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage requirements for polyethylene terephthalate (PTT) bulked continuous filament (BCF) yarns. This standard applies to PTT bulked continuous filament yarns with a linear density of 1,000 dtex to 2,400 dtex, a three-blade cross-section, and a glossy, semi-matte, or fully matte finish. This standard also applies to PTT bulked continuous filament yarns with a linear density of 2,200 dtex to 4,000 dtex, a three-blade cross-section, and a glossy, semi-matte, or fully matte finish. Other types of PTT bulked continuous filament yarns can be used as a reference for application.
