GB/T 19314.5-2019 Small craft—Hull construction and scantlings—Part 5:Design pressures for monohulls,design stresses,scantlings determination
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 19314 applies to the design pressure and stress of boats with a hull length (LH) of 2.5m to 24m as specified in GB/T 19916-2005, as well as the dimensions of components (including internal components) of monohull boats made from fiber-reinforced plastics, steel, aluminum alloys, glued wooden boards, or other suitable boat-building materials. This part is only applicable to boats in good condition.
This part is only applicable to boats with a full load displacement and a maximum speed of no more than 50 knots.
When assessing the stability, freeboard, and buoyancy of boats according to ISO 12217, the assessment scope should include all parts of the hull that are assumed to be watertight or weatherproof, which is essential for the safety of the boat and its crew.
To obtain the dimensions of all components, this part needs to be used in conjunction with ISO 12215-6, ISO 12215-7, ISO 12215-8, and ISO 12215-9.
Determine the dimensions of windows, portholes, storm covers, hatch covers, and doors according to ISO 12216. The structures supporting these elements meet the requirements of this part.
Note 1: The component dimensions in this part are mainly applied to recreational boats (including recreational rental boats, excluding racing boats).
Note 2: This part assumes that the component dimensions are determined solely by local loads.
Note 3: This part believes that the component dimensions meet the minimum strength requirements for safe and reliable operation of motorboats and sailboats in normal environments.
The units of pressure and stress are usually Pa, kPa, or MPa. To make it easier for users to understand this part, the pressure units are expressed in kN/m2 (1 kN/m2=1 kPa), and the stress or elastic modulus units are expressed in N/mm2 (1 N/mm2=1 MPa).
