GB/T 19314.3-2019 Small craft—Hull construction and scantlings—Part 3:Materials:Steel,aluminium alloys,wood,other materials
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 19314 applies to materials intended for the manufacture of boat hulls, superstructures, and appendages, particularly:
——Weldable ordinary-strength and high-strength hot-rolled steel plates, wide flats, profiles, and bars;
——Austenitic stainless steel plates and profiles;
——Forged aluminum alloy plates, profiles, or extruded profiles;
——Solid wood, plywood, or veneer wood;
——Other applicable materials.
Note 1: If it can be verified that the materials are sufficiently suitable and durable for the intended use, other materials may be used in boat manufacturing.
This part applies to boats with a hull length (LH) not exceeding 24 m, as specified in ISO 8666.
Note 2: The fundamental reason for formulating this part of GB/T 19314 is that the choice of materials in boat manufacturing has a significant impact on the short- and long-term durability under expected loads and environmental conditions.
