Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for pure methane and high-purity methane, the inspection rules, test methods, as well as packaging, marking, storage, transportation, and safety warnings, etc.
This standard applies to methane extracted from natural gas by low-temperature distillation. Pure methane and high-purity methane are mainly used for the preparation of standard gas mixtures, catalyst evaluation, carburizing and carbide formation of metals and alloys, microbial cultivation, refrigerants, and chemical raw materials, etc.
