GB/T 18380.12-2008 Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 12:Test for vertical flame propagation for a single insulated wire or cable—Procedure for 1 kW pre-mixed flame
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 18380 specifies the method for testing the vertical flame spread of single wires, cables, or optical cables under flame conditions. The test apparatus is specified in GB/T 18380.11-2008. Note 1: If necessary, the test in GB/T 18380.12-2008 can be conducted simultaneously with the test in GB/T 18380.13-2008. The recommended performance requirements are given in Appendix A. This part specifies the conventional use of a 1 kW pre-mixed flame, which is not suitable for testing small-sized single wires or cables with a total cross-section of less than 0.5 mm2, as their conductors will melt before the end of the test, nor is it suitable for fine optical cables, as the optical cables will break before the end of the test. In these cases, the test method can refer to GB/T 18380.22-2008.
