Scope
This part of GB/T 33488 specifies the general principles of non-destructive testing methods, including visual inspection, radiographic testing, and ultrasonic testing, for pressure-bearing equipment made of welded plastics used in the chemical industry.
This part is applicable to the non-destructive testing of pressure vessels and welded joints of pressure pipes made from thermoplastic plastic pipes or plates such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which are welded using hot air welding, extrusion welding, hot melt welding, and electric fusion welding processes.
