Scope
This part of GB/T 33488 specifies the general requirements, parameter settings, inspection procedures, and inspection reports for ultrasonic testing of pressure-bearing equipment welded from plastics used in the chemical industry. This part is applicable to pressure vessels and welded joints of pressure pipes made from thermoplastic plastic pipes or plates such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which are welded using hot air welding, extrusion welding, hot melt welding, and electric fusion welding processes. The ultrasonic testing uses the A-type pulse reflection method.
