Scope

This standard specifies the measurement performance requirements of gas ultrasonic flowmeters, the requirements for the flowmeter itself, installation and maintenance, on-site verification test requirements, as well as flow calculation methods and measurement uncertainty estimation.
This standard applies to insertion-type time-of-flight ultrasonic gas flowmeters (hereinafter referred to as flowmeters), which are generally used for natural gas flow measurement in gathering and transportation devices, gas pipelines, storage facilities, gas distribution systems, and user metering systems. The use of external clamp-on gas ultrasonic flowmeters can refer to this standard.
