GB/T 20936.1-2022 Gas detectors for explosive atmospheres—Part 1:Performance requirements of detectors for flammable gases

Scope

This document specifies the general requirements and test methods for the structure and performance of portable, mobile, and fixed flammable gas or vapor detectors used entirely or partially in explosive environments (including gas mines).
This document applies to flammable gas detectors with any volume fraction specified by the manufacturer, which have indication, alarm, or other output functions and are used to indicate potential explosion hazards and, in some cases, automatically or manually trigger interlocking protective devices.
In this document, the term "display to a volume fraction of X% or X% LFL" includes devices with a measurement range upper limit equal to or less than X% or X% LFL.
This document also applies to suction-type detectors with an integrated sampling system, used for safety applications in commercial and industrial non-residential settings.
This document does not apply to external sampling systems, laboratory equipment, scientific research equipment, or devices solely used for process monitoring and/or control, nor does it apply to open-path (light path) detectors within the scope of GB/T 20936.4. Only devices with very short light paths intended for use in situations where concentration is uniform along the light path are within the scope of this document.
For detectors capable of detecting multiple gases, this document only applies to their detection of flammable gases or vapors.
This document supplements and modifies the general requirements of GB/T 3836.1. When the requirements of this document conflict with those of GB/T 3836.1, the requirements of this document shall take precedence.
