Scope

This guidance technical document specifies the requirements for the physical layer of nodes and transmission media on deterministic control networks.
This guidance technical document is applicable to the definition of the physical layer and media of deterministic control networks, which correspond to the definition of the first layer in the 7-layer OSI model of GB/T 9387. Figure 1 shows the position of the physical layer and media in the OSI model. This figure is applicable to all types of physical layers.
Note: Most of the terms and models for the physical layer and media are adopted from the corresponding parts of ISO/IEC 8802-4:1995 or GB/T 15629.3—1995.
