Scope

This guidance technical document specifies requirements in the following two aspects: some options for remote device configuration via the network and the configuration parameters embedded in the device; through these functional elements, users can select and modify the configuration settings of the device for a specific application.
This guidance technical document applies to the following:
—— Standard methods for device configuration;
—— The composition and requirements of the Electronic Data Sheet (EDS);
—— Requirements and informative notes for product developers and configuration tool designers.
The Electronic Data Sheet complies with the definition of the seventh layer of the OSI model as defined in GB/T 9387. The position of this guidance technical document in the OSI model is shown in Figure 1.
