Scope

This standard specifies the capillary column gas chromatography method for determining the content of trans fatty acid isomers in vegetable oils.
This standard adopts the single capillary column gas chromatography (GC) method, which is suitable for determining the content of trans isomers produced in (high-temperature) refined or hydrogenated vegetable oils.
This standard can also provide reports on other fatty acids in the same sample and the same analysis (for example: the total composition of all fatty acids, the total amount of saturated fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids).
