Scope
This standard specifies the basic parameters, types, technical requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for electric saws.
This standard applies to handheld electric saws (hereinafter referred to as saws) with AC/DC dual-use or single-phase series-excited motors, which are used for linear sawing of boards and pipes made of wood, metal, plastic, rubber, and similar materials under general environmental conditions.
This standard also applies to electronically speed-regulated saws.
This standard does not apply to curve saws, portable electric pipe saws, and battery-powered reciprocating saws.
