Scope
Addition: This dedicated standard specifies the safety and basic performance requirements for anesthesia systems (as defined in 2.101.7) and individual devices designed for anesthesia systems. This dedicated standard does not apply to: -- Anesthesia systems using flammable anesthetics, as defined in Appendix DD; -- Portable anesthesia systems used for emergency surgery in remote areas, open-air areas, or disaster zones; -- Dental pain relief equipment.
