Scope

This part of GB/T 30032 specifies the safety requirements for mobile elevating work platforms (hereinafter referred to as MEWPs) equipped with guardrail systems. This part is used in conjunction with GB 25849.
This part applies to MEWPs that need to enter specific work areas through special channels. Such MEWPs can be self-propelled or manually driven, and are used in daily work to lift people to positions where they can place, install, or inspect items or materials. To facilitate operators' entry into the work area, some of the guardrail systems on MEWP work platforms are designed to be retractable.
This part does not apply to power-driven industrial trucks used for picking and stacking items.
