Scope

This standard specifies the basic safety requirements for the design, manufacture, inspection, and use of mechanical parking equipment (hereinafter referred to as parking equipment).
This standard applies to various types of mechanical parking equipment.
The safety requirements specified in this standard are aimed at the hazards described in Table 1 of the Hazard List in this standard.
This standard does not apply to the following situations:
a) Car lifts (for maintenance);
b) Requirements for buildings. Even if the parking equipment is directly supported by the building, it is not within the scope of this standard;
c) Peripheral equipment of parking equipment.
