GB/T 19510.208-2023 Controlgear for electric light sources—Part 2-8:Particular requirements for ballasts for fluorescent lamps

Scope

This document specifies the special requirements for fluorescent lamp ballasts (excluding resistive ballasts) used with AC power sources of 50 Hz or 60 Hz and a voltage of up to 1,000 V. The fluorescent lamps used with them may have preheated or non-preheated cathodes, and the working circuit may or may not include a starter or starting device. The rated power, dimensions, and characteristics of the lamps are specified in IEC 60081 and IEC 60901. This document applies to complete ballasts and their components, such as reactors, transformers, and capacitors. The special requirements for thermal protection ballasts are given in Appendix B. This document applies to ballasts used with lamps operating at mains frequency in the traditional manner, excluding high-frequency AC electronic ballasts, for which the requirements are specified in GB/T 19510.203-2023. For capacitors with a capacitance greater than 0.1 μF, see IEC 61048 and IEC 61049. For capacitors with a capacitance less than or equal to 0.1 μF, see IEC 60384-14. Performance requirements are specified in IEC 60921.
