Scope

This part of GB 19510 specifies the special requirements for ballast lamps used with AC power sources of 50 Hz or 60 Hz below 1,000 V (excluding resistive ballasts). The accompanying fluorescent lamps may have preheated cathodes or not, and may operate with or without starters. The rated power, dimensions, and characteristics of these lamps should comply with the provisions of IEC 60081 and IEC 60901. This part applies to complete ballasts and their components, such as reactors, transformers, and capacitors. The special requirements for thermal protection ballasts are given in Appendix B.
